Do I Need To Lose Weight Before My Boudoir Session?
The short answer? No. The longer answer? Still no.
Yet this is probably the most common reason women postpone booking a boudoir session.
Not because they don’t want to do it. Not because they aren’t interested.
Not because they don’t deserve it. Because they’re waiting.
Waiting until they lose ten pounds.
Twenty pounds.
Thirty pounds.
Waiting until they feel more confident.
Waiting until they look more like the person they think they’re supposed to be.
And for many women, that waiting turns into months. Sometimes years.
The Weight-Loss Waiting Game
I’ve heard it countless times. “I want to book, but I need to lose weight first.” The problem is that confidence rarely arrives the moment the scale hits a certain number. In fact, many women discover that even after losing weight, they simply find something new to be critical of.
The confidence they’re waiting for never quite arrives. Even tho the beauty others see has been staring right at them the whole time.
Here’s The Question To Ask Yourself
What if you’re already worthy of being photographed?
Not ten pounds from now.
Not six months from now.
Not after another diet.
Today.
Because the truth is that the women I photograph are not showing up because they believe they’re perfect.
Most are showing up despite believing they’re not.
You Are Not The Only One Thinking This
If you’ve been telling yourself:
• I need to lose weight first.
• I’ll do it next year.
• I don’t feel confident enough.
• Maybe after I get in better shape.
You’re in very good company.
Those thoughts are incredibly common.
In fact, many women who arrive for their session have spent months talking themselves out of it before finally reaching out.
And almost every one of them says some version of: “I wish I hadn’t waited so long.”
The Camera Doesn’t See What You See
One of the biggest misconceptions about photography is that great photographs only happen when someone has a “perfect” body.
They don’t.
Great photographs happen because of:
• Lighting
• Posing
• Expression
• Connection
• Confidence
• Emotion
The camera is not looking for perfection. Neither is anyone else.
My job is to use twenty years of experience to help you look and feel your best through posing, wardrobe guidance, lighting, and direction.
You don’t have to figure that out on your own.
The Version Of You Right Now Matters
Life has a funny way of convincing us that we’re always one step away from being ready. Lose a little weight. Get a little more confident. Wait for a better time.
But what if this is the better time?
What if the version of you sitting here reading this deserves to be celebrated right now? Not because you’re perfect. Because you’re real.
Because you’ve lived. Because you’ve overcome things.
Because your story matters.
Confidence Doesn’t Usually Show Up Before The Session
This might surprise you. Most women don’t walk into a boudoir session overflowing with confidence.
They walk in nervous.
They walk in uncertain.
They walk in wondering if they made the right decision.
Confidence usually shows up later.
Somewhere between the first outfit and the last.
Somewhere between realizing you don’t need to know how to pose and seeing your first images.
Somewhere between letting go of self-judgment and allowing yourself to enjoy the experience.
What If You Never Reach The Number?
This is the question nobody likes to ask.
What if you never reach the weight you’re waiting for?
Would that mean you never deserved this experience?
Of course not. Your worth is not measured by a scale.
Your confidence is not determined by a clothing size.
And your story doesn’t become valuable only after you change your body.
The Real Mindfuck
The real mindfuck isn’t your weight. It's self doubt.
Tell the world to fuck right the hell off and shot them who you are.
